Join us for a sponsored dog walk to raise money for two Charities I support, ‘Grupo Lobo’ (Iberian Wolf Rescue near Lisboa) and ‘Their Voice’ (a group of people helping to relieve the suffering of horses, ponies and donkeys).
This sponsored walk is open to everyone, whether they have a dog or not.
Starting at 10am, covering a distance of 4.4km and should take approximately 2 hours, next to the beautiful Obidos Lagoon.
Please click here to see a map of the walk.
The tracks are sandy limestone and pretty even with some uphill and downhill walking, good walking footwear is advisable.
Please be aware you may come across other pedestrians, cyclists, motorbikes and horseriders. Please respect others and keep your dogs under control whilst we do the sponsored walk.
There will be a €5 fee to join the walk plus the option for your friends and family to sponsor you doing the walk.
You can download a sponsorship form here. Official Sponsorship Form

Coming from the A8, take exit 17 sign posted to Gaeiras / Óbidos.
Turn right onto the N8 heading towards Óbidos.
Follow the N8 until you see the Bombeiros Voluntários de Óbidos on your Left, then take the second right after the Bombeiros onto the Estrada da Estação M575 signposted to Lagoa de Óbidos.
Continue following the signs to Lagoa de Óbidos driving through Carregal and Arelho.
As you continue following the signs for Lagoa de Óbidos you will past the Aeródromo de Óbidos on your right.
Continue along the winding road until you see the Lagoon in front of you as you approach a tight left hand bend. Please turn right into a lay by area on this bend to park your car. (see photos below).
Depending on the number of cars needing to park, there is plenty of parking at the Restaurant O Covão dos Musaranhos further along the road after the entrance to the Bom Successo Golf Club, just around the end of the Lagoon. (see photos below).
I would like to ask that those with dogs to park in the lay by, rather than the car park next to the Restaurant O Covão dos Musaranhos, due to a number of loose dogs that tend to bark a lot at other dogs, but are ok with people. We can arrange for people to be picked up from this car park.
After the walk we will go over to the Restaurant O Covão dos Musaranhos for a coffee etc.
